Understanding How DanberKidz Calculates Time

Modified on Mon, Jan 6 at 8:07 PM

We prioritize transparency and fairness while ensuring caregivers are compensated for the time they dedicate to each booking. This guide explains how we calculate the time for your booking and how it appears on your invoice.

How Time is Measured

  1. Timer on Dashboard:

    • The timer starts when the caregiver checks into the booking.
    • The timer ends when the caregiver checks out of the booking.
    • The timer shows the total time elapsed during the booking, displayed in 15-minute increments:
      • Time between 1–15 minutes is displayed as 15 minutes.
      • Time between 16–30 minutes is displayed as 30 minutes, and so on.
  2. Planned Time vs. Actual Time:

    • Parents select a planned time for the booking when scheduling.
    • While the timer accurately reflects the actual time care was provided, caregivers reserve the full planned time for the booking to ensure availability.

How Billing Works

  1. Billing Based on Greater Time:

    • Parents will be billed for either the actual time elapsed or the planned time, whichever is greater.
    • This ensures caregivers are fairly compensated for reserving their availability for the full duration of the planned booking.
  2. Invoice Representation:

    • Time is converted into hours for billing purposes and displayed in 15-minute increments:
      • 15 minutes = 0.25 hours
      • 30 minutes = 0.5 hours
      • 45 minutes = 0.75 hours
      • 1 hour = 1.0 hours
  3. Example:

    • If your booking’s planned time was 2 hours but the actual time was 1 hour and 30 minutes:
      • The invoice will reflect the greater time, which is 2 hours.

Why We Use This System

  • Fairness: Caregivers are compensated for the time they commit to being available.
  • Transparency: Parents can track actual time in real-time on the dashboard.
  • Clarity: The invoice clearly outlines how time is calculated and billed.

By calculating time this way, we balance fairness for caregivers and parents while ensuring a smooth and transparent process. If you have any questions about time tracking or billing, please submit a support request for assistance.
