How to Find and Book a Caregiver

Modified on Thu, Jan 2 at 4:00 PM

Finding and booking a caregiver for your child is simple with the DanberKidz app. Follow these steps to search for a caregiver and make a booking:

Step 1: Log In to Your Account

  • Open the DanberKidz - For Parents app and log in using your phone number and OTP verification.
  • Ensure you're logged in as a parent to access the caregiver booking features.

Step 2: Start the Booking Process

  • On the home screen, tap the Where do you need care? box to begin.
  • You will be prompted to enter the location where the caregiving session will take place.

Step 3: Choose Your Location

  • Select one of the following location options:
    • My Current Location – The app will automatically detect your current location.
    • Caregiver Location – Choose this option to find a caregiver offering care at their location.
    • Enter New Location – Manually enter an address where the care will be provided.
    • Saved Locations – Select from previously saved addresses.

Step 4: Select the Child(ren)

  • After choosing your location, the app will prompt you to select which child(ren) need care.
  • If you haven't added your child’s profile yet, you can add them now.
  • You can book care for multiple children at the same time.

Step 5: Choose the Duration of Care

  • Select the duration of the booking, from 1 to 8 hours.
  • The total cost of the booking will automatically update based on the selected hours.

Step 6: Confirm Booking and Payment Hold

  • Once you’ve selected your child(ren) and the care duration, tap the Confirm Booking button.
  • At this point, a hold of up to 8 times the booking cost may be placed on your payment method to ensure there are sufficient funds for potential late pickups or extensions.
  • Please note that you are not charged yet. The hold is just a temporary authorization, which will be released once the booking concludes.

Step 7: Confirmation Screen

  • Once the app connects you with a caregiver, a confirmation screen will appear, displaying the caregiver's profile and estimated time of arrival (ETA).
  • From here, you can message, audio call, or video call the caregiver directly through the in-app communication system.
  • You can also view the caregiver’s profile for more details, such as experience and ratings.
  • After a few seconds, the app will automatically redirect you to the Home Screen, where you can view the booking details on your Dashboard.

Step 8: View Booking Dashboard

  • On your Dashboard, you’ll see the caregiver's ETA and a status message, such as “Caregiver is on their way.”
  • The app will give you the option to view the navigation of the caregiver so you can track their arrival in real-time.

Step 9: Caregiver Arrival and Check-In

  • When the caregiver arrives at the location, they will check-in to the booking, which will automatically start your booking time.
  • You’ll receive a notification confirming that the caregiver has arrived and the session has officially begun.

Step 10: Final Charge

  • You will be charged once the caregiver checks out of the booking, based on the actual booking time or the scheduled booking time, whichever is more.
  • The hold on your payment method will be released after the final charge is processed, and any extra funds will be returned.

Step 11: Communicate with the Caregiver

  • You can continue to communicate with the caregiver in-app, which allows for messages, audio, and video calls, throughout the booking.
  • Feel free to reach out to the caregiver for any updates or adjustments during the session.

Step 12: Check Your Booking History

  • To check the status of your booking, you can view the dashboard on your home screen or tap on the Bookings section in the app’s menu.
  • Here you can see active, completed, or canceled bookings and the caregiver assigned to each one.
