At DanberKidz, we strive to provide a reliable and seamless experience for both parents and caregivers. This Refund and Cancellation Policy outlines the terms and conditions for cancellations, refunds, and emergency scenarios to ensure fairness and clarity for all parties.
1. Cancellations Initiated by Parents
Before Being Connected with a Caregiver:
- Parents who cancel a booking before a caregiver accepts it will not be charged for the care.
- If a temporary hold was placed on their account, it will be released within a few business days (depending on their bank’s policies).
- The booking fee is non-refundable in all cases.
After Caregiver Accepts but Before Check-In:
- If a parent cancels after a caregiver has accepted the booking but before the caregiver checks in, the parent will receive a 50% refund of the booking cost, excluding the non-refundable booking fee.
After Caregiver Checks In:
- Cancellations made after the caregiver checks in will not be eligible for any refund.
2. Cancellations Initiated by Caregivers
For Care Provided at the Parent’s Location:
- If a caregiver cancels before they check in to the booking, they will be assessed a $25 penalty, deducted from their Connect account.
- The parent will receive a full refund of the booking cost, excluding the non-refundable booking fee.
For Care Provided at the Caregiver’s Location:
- If a caregiver cancels before the parent checks in to the booking, they will be assessed a $50 penalty, deducted from their Connect account.
- The parent will receive a full refund of the booking cost, excluding the non-refundable booking fee.
- Parents may also request a credit to cover fuel or transportation costs incurred in traveling to the caregiver's location for the cancelled booking.
3. Emergencies During a Booking
Continuity of Care:
- In the event of an emergency, parents and caregivers are expected to work together to ensure there is no lapse in child supervision. Under no circumstances should a child be left unattended.
Caregiver Emergency:
- If a caregiver is unable to continue care due to an emergency, they must attempt to contact the emergency contacts listed in the child’s profile to ensure a smooth transfer of responsibility.
Parent Emergency:
- If a parent experiences an emergency and cannot return before the booking ends, the booking will be automatically extended.
- The parent must make every effort to communicate with the caregiver about their expected return time and any necessary arrangements for continuity of care.
- The parent’s card may be charged up to five times the hourly booking rate for the additional care provided.
4. Timeliness and Responsibility
- Parents are responsible for being on time to assume care responsibility from the caregiver at the end of the booking.
- Late arrivals may result in additional charges based on the caregiver’s extended availability.
